As usually, our Wednesday’s class at lab. Honestly, for today class, I’m not feeling well. After the CTU class, immediately I go to the PENAWAR. Doctor said that I am okay and I need to control my stress. I don’t know what the cause that make me so stress. So, I’m just heading to the class and today we still continue with the thesis statement for Rozita and Asnawi’s group. In the end, the thesis statement is done. Then, Miss Zu want check our introduction but because it does not have enough time, the class was dismissed. I hope that I’ll getting well and can do the outline better.

Assalamualaikum…

Today is the day which is we should present our thesis statement. Miss Zu mood is not really good and I don’t know why. When Ana and I presenting our thesis statement, Miss Zu is getting angry and I feel so scared and nervous. In the end of the class, Ana and I go to see Miss Zu and ask her how to make the proper thesis statement. Fortunately, Miss Zu willingly to teach us but the most shocking is, Miss Zu help us to do our thesis statement. Ana and I feel very ashamed because Miss Zu do our thesis statement, we owed Miss Zu so much. As time goes by, I feel that Miss Zu is not bad person and she is nice. Hopefully, Ana and I can do the term paper awesomely, Insyaallah.

This is our thesis statement:

“  It is indeed true that without HPV Vaccination women all over Malaysia still live in a perfect healthy      life, however, Malaysian way of lifestyle has changed the situation as recently failing to take the HPV Vaccination will lead to negative catastrophes such as increasing sexually transmitted diseases, leading to mental retardation and eventually will lead to fatal chronic cancerous death cases. ”

If you guys does not show your face, I will pray that your Bel 311 will fail !” So, to want make the thing easy,  a whole class come to the library. Class end at 6pm.

HOW TO MAKE A SUPERB INTRODUCTION PARAGRAPH

Assalamualaikum…

Today, Miss Zu teach us on how to make introduction paragraph by using different hook. The Parts of the Introductory Paragraph consist of :

¨  The Hook - Designed to grab attention immediately and give some indication about the essay’s topic

¨  The Transition - Moves the reader from the hook to the driving force of the essay….

¨  The Thesis Statement - Makes the contract with the reader about what will be discussed without a blatant announcement.

¨  For your information there are variety types of hook which are:

1. Personal examples

2. Quotations

3. Facts or statistics

4. Rhetorical questions

5. Current events

6. Contrast to the thesis statement

7. Definition

8. Funnel / Broad to specific / general statements

Ana and I are going to put maybe 3 hook in our introduction paragraph. The hook that we are going to use are facts and statistics, rhetorical questions and quotations. I wish that all of us can make the superb thesis statement that can meet Miss Zu expectations, Insyaallah.

THE VARIETY OF ESSAY

Assalamualaikum..

Hi guys ! Today is Tuesday, weeheee !! Today, a whole class come late to the class and its because we have Qmt quiz and its require a lot of question and time for us to answer. That’s why we come late to the class, sorry Miss Zu. Like usually, our class start we recite Al-Fatihah. The first question that Miss Zu ask is “What are the function of thesis statement?” and our response is “krikk !!” “krikk!!” hahah.. Then Miss Zu said that “ Thesis statement is NOT to general and NOT to specific. As you know, we have 5 types of essays” which are:

1)      Cause- Effect Essays .

2)      Problem-Solution Essays.

3)      Comparison-Contrast Essays .

4)      Argumentative Essays.

5)      Discussion Essays .

Ana and I have choose Causes and Effects essays for our term paper. Here’s the example thesis statement for causes and effects essay.

“There is no doubt that the advertising media is produced through many other channels and factors, however, to a great extent, it obviously  influenced our appearance, our perception of gender role and behavior, as well as our social values “

So the conclusion is, we must understand the format well because it can help us to do term paper and answer question when writing in Final Exam.

DEBATE AND I

Assalamualaikum…

Hi guys? How’s your weekend? For me, my friend and I, we have such a great weekend. Okay, for today Miss Zu ask us to do a debate. Whoaaa, that’s awesome I think because we can argue and unleash our confident to speak in public. Miss Zu divided us into four group which is group one, group two, group three and group four. My group which is group four, we need to debating with group Rozita. So our topic is  “Is it true that men are easy to work with and more creative than women especially when it involves group work?” Hmm, it’s a interesting topic for me and we brainstorm and google together to find the point to argue with Rozita’s group. Our group is government side and Rozita’s group is opponent side. Here our point:

We totally agree because :

1)      Usually women more sensitive other than guys and they hard to balance their feelings

2)      Women love to give idea but mostly their idea is not brilliant at all

3)      Men are more open minded to accept others people’s idea rather than women.

4)      Men more brave, firm and very co-operating other than women.

I have a lot to say and like to refute especially when the opponent side give their point but you know when I got nervous everything will be messed up but its okay. Debate give me more confident to speaking in English even though its start with stuttering. I hope I can do it better in future.

Computer lab today !! weeheee…  Today is the simple day whereas Miss Zu ask us to update and edit our blog with put some creativity in our blog like a picture and link that we have learn before. So, there are some use this chance to online Facebook or look mail. Same goes like me, when Miss Zu not near to me, my friend and I will log in Facebook and when Miss Zu comes near to us, we quickly close the tab. Haha its funny but that’s the sweetest memories in our life. At the same time, Miss Zu ask us to blog walking to our friend’s blog in leave some comment about their blog.

TODAY WE ARE SALESMAN AND SALESWOMAN

Assalamualaikum…

Like usually our Tuesday’s class at block u214. All of us came early today, maybe we excited to learn a new thing, hahaha I guess maybe. Then, Miss Zu enter and she brought a BOX. All of us was very curious and excited and we bet that Miss Zu will do some activity today. Today we learn about FACT & OPINION.

A Fact is:

ü  Objective information that  can be checked or proved to be true.           

ü  Information that does not change

ü  For example : Malaysia’s independence day is 31 August 1957.

An Opinion is:

ü   Is a statement that cannot be proved to be true or false

ü  Is one’s personel belief, idea, or feeling about a subject

ü  For example : Zayn Malik is the handsome guy in the world.

Then, Miss Zu divide us in 6 group. My group is Bariah, Nabilah, Solehin, Adibah and me. We need have to be like salesman and saleswoman. Miss Zu ask one of us to come forward and pick one of thing that she put in the box. So, our group pick the product from Bioglo which is the cleanser mask product.

So this is our opinion and facts that they need to guess.

Facts :

2)      The contain of this product is 75 ml

3)      The color of the liquid’s contains is black

Opinions:

MOVE HERE, MOVE THERE

Assalamualaikum..

Hi guys ! It’s a Monday again and you know Monday is the tiredness day for me. Today Miss Zu ask us to bring our own laptop to the class and the purpose she ask to bring it because she want us to give a comment to each blog. For your information, mostly the student just use free wifi of Uitm to access to the internet same goes like me. However, at Dewan Sri Peria, its hard for us to get connected to the wifi. I don’t know why. Maybe because the location of Dewan Sri Peria it’s a bit far to the main sources of the wifi and Miss Zu ask us to move to the library. Yeahh, almost the library in the whole world have a computer lab to student easy to find information, no wonder Miss Zu ask us to move to the library. Its heaven for those have use broadband to access internet. I mean, its easier to them to find any materials for their assignment but for the end of the month they broke. Yeahh, they need to pay the bill and for the student that their parents support to pay the bill, its nothing to them to use broadband. Okay, I think its enough to stop whining. So, I hope tomorrow will be the great day for learn Bel 311.

SCANNING AND SKIMMING

Assalamualaikum..

Hey guys ! Today is Wednesday and we learn a new think which is scanning and skimming. For your information, scanning and skimming are very important in final exam because the question usually comprehension reading. In final exam, if I’m not mistake, we just  given  only a couple hours to answer the question and sometimes the student does not have enough time to answer it. That’s why Bel 311 have skimming and scanning syllabus ,whereas it will give easier for student to answer the question. Scanning means knowing what information you need before you read. You scan where you are looking for a fact or a detail or a particular vocabulary word. When you are scanning, you don’t have t read every word to answer the questions and don’t have understand every word. That’s are scanning.

Meanwhile, skimming is reading quickly for general meaning. You skim reading material to find out about topic, the main idea, and generic structure of passage. For this kind of reading, you only want to find out something and don’t want to know and memorize everything you read. In fact, you should leave out everything except a few important words. There are words that tell you the general idea.

Then before Miss Zu end the class,Okay, its seems like a bit tough right? The simple way is practice makes perfect, so do a lot practice then you will be master in this topic.

NEW YEAR,NEW LESSON

Weeheee new year already ! 2012 im going to miss all the memories that we had. Bad memories and good memories. Goodbye 2012 and welcome 2013. Its new year guys and I’d like to wish Happy New Year.. Hopefully, 2013 will become a great and awesome year, insya-Allah. Okay, enough for dreaming, now back to the reality. So, today our class start with presenting again with Sarah and Zubaidah’s group and guess what Miss Zu was rejected their topic again ! Pity them. I hope both of them can find another interesting topic and Miss Zu will approve it. After presentation, Miss Zu continue with summarizing. She taught us about “MIDAS touch”. At first, I don’t know what are “MIDAS touch” is but after Miss Zu explain I can get what the point is.

M     main idea : identify main idea from topic sentence

I       Identify supporting detail

D     Disregard unimportant information

A     Analyze redundant information

S     Simplify, categorize and highlight important information

Its quite simple right? But if we don’t give full attention, we might probably can get misunderstanding about this topic. I really hope I can perform well on writing in summarizing.
